Jon Erick Martinez, 36, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
He was born on Monday September 16th at 8:10 a.m. at Brownsville Medical Center; same hospital as his mother. Jon lived his early years in Port Isabel, TX, but as a military brat attended Little Axe Elementary and Tinker AFB Elementary in Oklahoma.
Jon Erick is preceded in death by his cousin Leo Villarreal (by marriage) his cousin Marco De Leon, his daddy Eddie - Heriberto Arriola, his uncle Walter Earl Lock, his aunt Lilia Martinez as well as his grandfathers: Fred Sylvan Lock and Israel Martinez.
Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful children: Layla Noel Martinez, and Lyrick Jon Martinez who will miss their father tremendously. In deeper sorrow he is survived by his mother: Marion Delia (Lock) McGlory, the father he knew: Robert Freeman McGlory, father: Leobardo Martinez, sister: Shawnie Adams, stepsisters: Meredith Womack, (Patrick Womack) as well as Mallory Ellis (David Ellis). His maternal grandmother Estela Cazares, aunts Erika Arriola Wilson (Jon Wilson), Virginia De Leon, Isabel Zamora (Anthony Zamora), and uncles Fred Lock Jr., Eligió Cazares and Rogelio Cazares (Antonia Cazares). Paternal grandmother Josefina Martinez, aunt Leticia Keplinger (Jeff Keplinger), Víctor Martínez and Joe Martinez, children for all of the above as well as extended family and best friends that are more like family as well, all too many to mention.
Visitation to be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral located at 1218 E. Jefferson Street in Brownsville Texas with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville, Texas.
Honored to be serving as Jon's pallbearers are Raul Villarreal, Ty Logan Bode, Mark Villarreal, Saul Villarreal, Andrew Jossiah Cazares, Jose Martinez and John Salinas.
All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers, or masks are recommended.
