Emilia R. Lopez, 73, of San Benito, TX, went to be with our Lord on December 4, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. She is preceded in death by her loving parents: Juan Rodriguez and Ignacia Gonzalez. Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons: Reynaldo R. Lopez, Antonio Lopez III (Alma Paredes), and a loving daughter; Yvonne Lopez Cerna. Also surviving is her cousin; Enrique (Gloria) Gaona, her loving aunt-sister Lupita Gonzalez Cavazos and a sister Maria Oliver, along with grandchildren: Jackson Neil Cerna, Brian Anthony Cerna, Aaron Michael Lopez, Sharon Roberts, and Austin Brandon Saco, great-grandchildren: Gabriela Davina Cerna, Vera Britain Roberts, and Jayden Buen Succeso. Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1001 West Highway 77, San Benito, TX with interment to follow at San Benito Memorial Park. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
