James Arthur Evans, 88, of Port Isabel, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. James was the founder of Torrence Machine & Tool in 1959, retired in 1997, and moved to South Texas. He enjoyed spending his time fishing and visiting his sons and grandchildren. He liked to keep himself busy with home projects and working on his boat. He is preceded in death by his mother: Lucille M. Evans, father: Frank Michael Evans, wife: Betty Mae Evans (Cerino) son: Phillip E. Evans. Left to cherish his memory are his son: James M. Evans, son: Michael J. Evans, son: Scott P. Evans (Griselda Avila 2nd wife divorced) step-daughter: Ingril Avila (not adopted), brothers: Donald Evans, sister: Patsy Hackel (Evans), grandchildren: Michael B. Evans, Debra Evans, James M. Evans, Ronald D. Evans, Stephanie N. Evans, Ashley Evans, Blake Evans, Kelsey Evans, Gavin Evans, Steven Evans, and Vincent Evans. James Arthur Evans will be cremated according to his wishes and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
