Ruben “El Cuajo” Dominguez Garza, 86, of Laguna Heights, entered into eternal rest on November 25, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Guadalupe D. Garza; two sons, Ruben Garza, Jr. and George Garza; a daughter, Marylou Garza; two brothers, Alfredo Garza, Jr. and Lucio Garza; and by a sister, Hortencia Valdez. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Maria C. Garza; son, Ruben M. (Griselda) Garza; daughter, Ruvina Garza; other daughters, Norma Garza, Imelda Garza, Marthana Garza, Esmeralda Garza, Ida Anna Castillo and Susana Decker; sons, Eduardo Montoya, Gavino Garza and Juan Garza; several other sons and daughters; grandchildren, Ramon Lucio, Ruben M. Garza, Jr., Pedro Garza, Kimberly Garza, Michael Alexander Garza, Ariana Leal, Airs Theo Leal, Anistyn Leal, Georgina Garza and Lisa Garza; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Jose (Amalia) Garza; and two sisters, Ruth Gomez and Celia Dominguez. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Port Isabel, with cremation to follow according to his wishes. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
