Obituary of Marco Antonio Alvarado, Jr.
Please share a memory of Marco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With sadness, love, and profound heartache, we announce that country singer, Marco Antonio Alvarado Jr. “Mark Lane” of Los Fresnos/Brownsville, Texas went on to be with our heavenly Father on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the age of 28 while at Brooke Army Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.
He was our most beloved son, brother, father, grandson, nephew, and friend. Mark battled health complications with the utmost courage, dignity, and above all else faith. Mark was always there to brighten the lives of others, and was a caring, brave warrior who spread his faith and love for God to those around him. He was a talented musician whose passion was singing live in front of friends and family. Throughout his career, he had the honor and privilege of performing with country artists such as Cody Johnson. Through his performances, he brought many people together. In addition to music, he worked diligently and selflessly in serving others wherever he was employed. He was a loving son and brother who was never too busy to call or catch up with family and old friends. Most importantly, he was a loving father to his sons and daughter. Mark adored them and placed them first in his life; he never missed an opportunity to show his great love for them.
Mark will be missed every day by his loving parents Marco Antonio Alvarado and Maria C. Leyva Alvarado, who love him more than words can ever express, his brothers Ian Anthony Alvarado, Andrew Garcia (Melanie), Miguel Alvarado (Rose), fiancé Alexandria B. Longoria, his most precious young sons Kolten Lane Alvarado, Donavin Smith (Hope), and his beautiful daughter Kataleya (Alexandria). He leaves behind his grandmothers Josefina Leyva and Aurelia Alvarado; uncles Rafael Leyva Jr (Mary), Merced Leyva, Pablo Leyva (Ellie), Isaias Leyva, Matias Alvarado (Nelly); aunts, “Nenny” Noelia Alvarado, Aldanely Bautista (Rudy), Anell Alvarado; cousins, Melissia Leyva Dillman (Eric), Jose Luz Leyva, Jennifer Leyva (Jose), Shanell Leyva Castro (Christian), Veronica Leyva, Pablo Leyva Jr, Francellie Leyva, Guillermo Leyva, Lucas Matthew Alvarado, Yuliana Leyva, Crystal Sandlin (Daniel), Robert Sandlin (Ruby), Damian Sandlin, Darian Sandlin (Jenny), Daniel Bautista (Amy), Oscar Bautista; nieces and nephews, Miranda Annette Alvarado, Michael Angel Alvarado, Justin Alexander Alvarado, and Miguel Antonio Alvarado Jr.
Mark also leaves behind countless friends, too many to list, in his hometown of Brownsville, Texas and his last home of San Antonio, Texas. Mark now rests with his grandfathers Rafael Leyva and Matias Alvarado, as well as his aunt Maria Cruz Leyva and uncle: Jose Luz Leyva.
