San Benito, Texas: Guadalupe Gutierrez, 83 of San Benito, Texas passed away on April 12, 2007 at Harlingen Medical Center. Guadalupe was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. He served his country in World War II in the Army Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in February 1946. He was a past member of the G.I. Forum of San Benito. He is preceded in death by his parents; Pedro and Maria Gutierrez; sister, Estella Trevino. He survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Reyes T. Gutierrez; 2 daughters, Diana Lujan and Sylvia (Oscar) Suarez; 5 sons, Jerry Gutierrez, Oscar Gutierrez, Joel (Martha) Gutierrez, Gerardo (Nora) Gutierrez and Eduardo Gutierrez; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ester Echeraria; 4 brothers, Pedro (Guadalupe) Gutierrez, Edelmiro Gutierrez, Andres (Maria) Gutierrez, and Jose (Rita) Gutierrez. Visitation will be held today Sunday April 15, 2007 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday April 16, 2007 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to San Benito City Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Post 205 and V.F.W. Post 2410 of San Benito.
