Benjamin J. "Ben" Garcia, 46 of San Benito Texas passed away on September 29th in San Benito Texas. Ben was born in Harlingen Texas to Dolores Zuniga Juarez Garcia and Bernardo Abrego Garcia Sr. He went to San Benito High School and graduated in 1994. He worked as a Trucker/Driver for different companies; his last job was at Arnold Oil. Ben enjoyed Pool, Fishing, Hunting, Bow Hunting, Carpentry and working with his hands. He won numerous awards for pool and ping pong tournaments. Ben volunteered his time at the Elks Lodge in San Benito. Benjamin was preceded in death by his mother Dolores Zuniga Juarez Garcia, his father Bernardo Abrego Garcia Sr., his grandparents Rafael Sanchez Gomez and Lydia Cortez Zuniga Gomez, his aunt; Gracie Alvarado, cousins; Carlos Garza and Rosemary Garza. Ben is survived by his daughter: Abigail Garcia of Harlingen, Maribel Sosa, his life partner in San Benito, Jennifer Sanchez, friend and mother of their daughter, brother: Bernardo Garcia Jr. and Dora Garcia from Harlingen. His aunts and uncles; Olga Garza of San Benito, Robert Gomez of San Benito, Irma Flores and Armando Flores of Harlingen, Benny Gomez of San Benito, Esmeralda Cantu and Richard Cantu of Dallas, Faustino Gomez and Nelda Gomez of San Benito, Ernesto Gomez and Ester Gomez of San Benito, Gilbert Gomez and Esmeralda Gomez of San Benito, Jesse Gomez and Diana Gomez of Sullivan City, and Samuel Gomez of San Benito, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday October 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with cremation according to his wishes. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
