I have many fond personal memories of Dianne & Byron, good friends for many decades when we all lived in St. Louis. I also have happy professional memories since they were dental patients of mine for many years too. When Dianne taught at Flynn Park School, near my office, I often came to speak to her class about tooth brushing and other good habits. Once, teaching why it’s important to brush thoroughly, I wrote “placque” on the blackboard and Dianne unobtrusively corrected me: the correct spelling of the invisible sticky stuff that forms on teeth is “plaque.” Teaching me as well as the kids!
