Obituary of Teresa O. Flores
Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Teresa O. Flores, 74, of San Benito, Texas was received in heaven on Sunday September 19, 2021.
Teresa, also known to many as Terry, was a life-long resident of San Benito, Texas. In her early life, she worked at Perry’s nickel and dime store where she met and made many friends. Her favorite past times included gardening and sewing. Terry was a long-time member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and dedicated her life serving the community of St. Theresa. With her husband Alberto Flores Jr. at her side, she often volunteered in the St. Vincent De Paul Social Service ministry. Tere would often help by making food baskets, filling up back to school pack packs, wrapping Christmas presents, volunteering at the church Carmesa’s and helping count donations after mass. Tere treasured her many good friends from St. Theresa. She was very thankful for how they embraced her into their parish family and appreciative for all the care, support and friendship they showed her throughout the years, especially in her time of illness.
Terry was also a very special aunt who was loved and adored tremendously. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time with her nieces, often having them over for sleep overs, sewing special outfits and hand-made dolls for them. In her elder years, she enjoyed being around her great nieces and nephews and would light up with a smile around their presence.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Jose Andres and Josefina Oviedo, along with her siblings Cresencio Oviedo and Federico Oviedo; sister-in-laws Bertha Oviedo (Jose) and Juanita ( Margarito) Oviedo.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, Alberto Flores Jr., her brothers Eziquel (Marta) Oviedo, Pablo (Lupe) Oviedo, Jose Oviedo Jr. and Margarito Oviedo; sister-in-law Estella Oviedo. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Adriana Oviedo, Angie (Jose) Ochoa, Lucy (Rick) Lewter, Vanessa (Joe) Flores, Pablo (Barbara) Oviedo Jr. and Ricardo (Veronica) Oviedo. Great nieces and nephews: Gianna Oviedo, Summer Ochoa, Patrick Lewter, Joey, MJ and Eliana Flores.
A rosary shall be recited on Thursday September 30th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
The Resurrection Mass will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment to follow at the Monte Meta Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.
