Estela Irma Lozano, 81 years of age passed away on August 26, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Estela was born September 9, 1939 in Mercedes, Texas to Alejandro and Maria “Luz” Gonzalez. Estela was educated in the San Benito School system. In 1959 she married Abel Gonzalez who passed away in 2016. In 1960 they moved to Denton, Texas where they had and raised four children together. Estela received her nursing license through Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She worked as a pediatric nurse for over 30 years at the Children’s Clinic in Denton, Texas. She retired from nursing in the late 80’s. She was so proud of her grandchildren and always wanted to be around them and they loved to be around her. She was known as “Nana” to her five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son: Ruben Gonzalez, parents: Alejandro and Luz Lozano, sisters: Raquel Trevino, Carmen Williams, and brother: Alejandro Lozano, Jr. Left to cherish Estela’s memories are daughter: Brinda Gonzalez Hackler (husband Jerry), son: Rudy Gonzalez, daughter: Celina Kregel, son: Abel Eli Gonzalez, brother: Luis Lozano of Rosenberg, TX, grandchildren: Raquel Gonzalez, Samantha Cancino (husband Victor), Haley Hackler, Leah Kregel, Alexander Hackler, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday August 30, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel service will be held Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery in San Benito.
