Maria de los Santos Gomez Varela, 76, of San Benito, went to be with our Lord, on August 18, 2021, at Harlingen Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roberto Varela and her sons: Reynaldo, Rogelio, Fortunato, and Antonio Varela. She is survived by her children, Roberto, Sylvia Martinez, Rodolfo, Zaida, Ramiro, Cinthya, Ricardo, Ruben, Rosendo and Rosalinda Varela. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous other family members. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 5 pm to 9 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito with a prayer service to be held at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10 am at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Las Rusias Cemetery. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
