Esthela Torres Covecevich, 71, of South Padre Island was called home to our Lord on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Born on August 22, 1949, Esthela was a gentle and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. She married Adan Jesus Covacevich in 1973 and raised four loving children, not to mention countless friends and neighbors that were in and out of her house and considered her their “adoptive mom”. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful friend and mentor. After Esthela and Adan retired, they moved to South Padre Island, Texas. Esthela’s favorite pastimes were shopping and going to her weekly chalupa games with her friends. She enjoyed her daily walks on the beach and walking to the bay at dusk to watch the sunset. She dedicated her time at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel where she was an active volunteer for bereavement services. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso Torres and Maria De Carmen Torres (Becerra). She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years: Adan Jesus Cavcevich, 4 children: Nikkita Covacevich, Nadia Covacevich, Adam Alexis Covacevich and Adana Estela (Antonio) Damian, her grandchildren, Jordan Reese, Jazlyn Alexis Reese, Jilliana Nicole Reese, Antonio Damian, IV, Alexander Dylan Damian and her great-grandson, Levi Reese.
