Dennie Arthur Reed, age 81 of San Benito, TX, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. He was born on January 12, 1940 in Monument, KS, the son of Stanley Arthur Reed and Winietta Mae (Plummer) Reed. He graduated from Colby High School, Colby, KS in 1958. On May 22, 1965 in Phillipsburg, KS, Dennie was married to Sally Ann (Hays) Reed. After her death in 2013, he married Karen Ann (Lamsens) Reed on Dec 17, 2014. Dennie earned a BS in music education from Fort Hays State University. During his career, he taught music, woods, and served as a school librarian. He enjoyed working with his hands, playing his trombone in addition to golfing and singing. Dennie spent countless hours volunteering in the church. He was a loving husband, devoted father, devoted grandfather and friend to so many. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard after college. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Reed; mother, Winietta Reed, first wife Sally (Hays) Reed, and son-in-law, James (Jim) Taylor. He is survived by his wife Karen Reed of San Benito, TX, two daughters Denise Reed-Davenport (Charles) of Junction City, KS and Shari Taylor of Riley, KS, his brother Howard Reed (Marla) of Salina, KS, two grandsons Tosh Taylor (Davita) of Iwakuni, Japan and Mark Thorn of New Braunfels, TX.
