We mournfully announce the passing of Perla Mae (Polly) Moody, 96, of San Benito, TX. Polly passed away peacefully in her sleep and into the arms of her Lord on June 17, 2021.
Polly was born on August 2, 1924 to Edward "Tito" Moody and Angelita Moody. She is pre-deceased by her parents, brothers, Hernan "El Quin" Rodriguez, Edward "Dutch" Moody, Gene Moody, Elmo Moody and half brother, James "Jimmy" Moody. She is survived by her sisters, Stella Siegel (David)and Rosa Guerra de Moody; and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Moody. She is also survived by her half brother, Edward "Eddie" Moody; and half sisters, Mary Lynn East and Jean Geary.
Polly spent her life as a dental hygienist where she traveled through South Texas and met lifelong friends along the way. She also supported Catholic missionary work for over 50 years. While Polly never married, she lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. Her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and great nephews and great nieces meant more to her than words can describe. They were her joy and comfort. Polly was a devoted Catholic and belonged to St. Benedict's Catholic Church. She prayed faithfully and read her bible daily. Her legacy of peace, gratitude, humbleness, and love for her family will be cherished forever. She will truly be missed.
The family would like to thank Bee First Hospice of Harlingen and Three Oaks Hospice of Austin for their compassion and care.
The family will be receiving visitors at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 25th followed by a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday June 26, 2021 at Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery in San Benito, Texas with Deacon Manuel Sanchez officiating.
All individuals are encouraged to social distance and must wear face coverings or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
