Kathryn Sue Koite, of San Benito, Texas, entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on May 25, 2021 at the age of 36. Kathryn was born on August 1, 1984 in Harlingen, Texas. She was a strong and fun loving mother, who enjoyed spending time with her beautiful daughters and relaxing at the beach. She always fought for what she believed in and was always the first to come to your defense whether she knew you her whole life or just met you that very day. Kate was a warrior, she fought her illness courageously until the very end. She always put the needs of others before her own and was always ready to help others. When it came to her children, she made every special occasion magical. If you had the privilege of knowing her, then you’d know she had a great sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Raymundo Leija and her paternal grandmother, Fernanda Koite. Left to cherish her memory are her three beautiful daughters, Kaylee Mariah Trevino, Evany Janae Trevino and Jaelyn Shanelle Trevino, her mother, Sylvia Leija Koite, her father, Fred Koite, her brothers, Mark Anthony (Melinda) Koite, Ryan Edward Koite, sisters, Jennifer Lynn Leija and Renee Olivia Koite. She was a loving aunt to nephew Mark Anthony Koite, Jr. and her nieces, Christabel Martinez, Cassidy Martinez, Jayda Creado and Gia Naomi Creado, maternal grandmother, Maria L. Leija and paternal grandfather, Goro Koite. And her best friend, sister from another mister, Nydia Gonzales. Katie, as she was affectionately known, will remain in the thoughts and hearts of her extended family at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. She served her community at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home for over 12 years and continued working as office manager till her passing. We all mourn her loss. Kathryn was loved by all her family, friends, extended working family and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 121 Garrison Dr., San Benito, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are: Mark Anthony Koite, Mark Anthony Koite, Jr., Rick Gonzales, Ron Gonzales, Ramon Rodriguez, Jr., Drew Rodriguez, Eliazar Gonzalez, and Eliazar Gonzalez II. Also serving as an honorary pallbearer is Elijah Blake Gonzales.
