Eric Eugene Armstrong, 63, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on August 20, 1957 in Harlingen, Texas to Otis Eugene and Greta Armstrong. Eric was a graduate of Harlingen High School and received his Certification in Welding at Texas Southmost College. He was skilled in all types of welding and pipefitting and this career took him all across the United States. Eric also had a talent for repairing anything mechanical. Eric enjoyed fishing on the bay and tending to his vegetable garden at home. These who knew Eric would say he never met a stranger and was willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Eric was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Caroline Martinez. He is survived by his brother Carl Leon Armstrong of Harlingen, Texas. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Cremation to be held after services and private burial of ashes will be held thereafter. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and must wear face covers or masks.
