Alberto “Vetin” Villarreal, Jr. 61, of Port Isabel Texas passed away on March 29, 2021 in Brownsville, Texas.
Vetin was always laughing and making others laugh. He loved to watch football, his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He had a sense of humor that would bring so much laughter to all those who knew him. If you needed anything Alberto was the first one to arrive. He wouldn’t shy away from challenges. He loved to fish and go hunting with the boys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Francisca Villarreal; sister, Anna Elizabeth Villarreal; paternal grandparents, Pedro and Antonia Gody Villarreal; maternal grandparents, Francisco and Rufina Gayton Martinez; brother-in-law, Lucio Garza; sister-in-law, Maria Guadalupe Ressler; and father and mother-in-law, Lucio and Evangelina Garza.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eileen Garza Villarreal; children, Albert (Ana) Villarreal III, Erica (Noel) Garza, Evangelina "Bengie" (Juan) Gomez, Mark Edward (Heaven Lewis) Villarreal, Saul Villarreal, Raul Villarreal, and Reynaldo (Diana) Barrientez, Jr.; and his companion, Gloria Barrientez; 11 grandchildren, Anthony J. Villarreal, Andrew Villarreal, Christian J. Chavez, Ava Gomez, Adam Villarreal, Caine Gomez, Albert Lucio Villarreal, Nyssa A. Garza, Ethan A. Garza, Anastasia and Ethan Barrientez; 1 great-grand-daughter, Alaia Lee Villarreal; siblings, Rosario (Juan) Mora, Maria De La Luz (Juan) Salazar, Erma (Gilbert) Munoz, Raul Villarreal, Virginia Olivarez, Guadalupe Patricia "Betty" (Luciano) Sanchez, Lourdes Alicia (Mike) Sachtleben, Juan Martin "Johnny" (Daisy) Villarreal and Francis Janie (Alejandro, Jr.) Gaytan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m., until 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas, with a cremation to follow.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus, all individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
