Obituary of Alicia G. Guetzow

Alicia Galvez Guetzow, 82, of San Benito, TX entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, while her children were by her side.
Alicia was born in Harlingen, Texas to Antonio R. Galvez and Josefina Barrera Galvez. She grew up in San Benito, Texas and was a graduate of the San Benito High School Class of '58. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, listening and dancing to music and reading.
For 27 years, she worked in administration for the City of San Benito Housing Authority. She then went on to work for another 25 years as an Activities Director at Casa Del Sol Adult Daycare Center for where she retired from in 2015.
She was also a long-time member of the Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church in San Benito, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio R. Galvez and Josefina B. Galvez. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Veda Lorraine Guetzow and Ronald Eugene Guetzow; two grandchildren, Clarissa Ann Guetzow and Ronald Eugene Guetzow Jr.; one great-grandchild, Penelope Lila Moreno; her siblings, Antonio (Sylvia) Galvez Jr. and Jose R. (Loida) Galvez; many nieces and nephews as well as many relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 1, at 10 a.m., at San Vicente Cemetery in Rio Hondo, Texas.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus, all individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
