Obituary of Hector V. Hernandez

Hector V. Hernandez, went home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 19, 2021. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he left this earth and entered the holy Kingdom of God.
He was born in San Benito, TX to Gregorio C. Hernandez and Lydia V. Hernandez. Hector loved barbecuing, listening to music, watching “Gunsmoke” on the Western channel and watching his favorite teams the Los Angeles Lakers, UT Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. He was married to Silvia M. Hernandez for 33 years with whom he shared two daughters, Deborah and Amy. Hector was affectionally known as “Popo” to his two grandchildren Raeleigh and Kaydence whom he loved very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gregorio C. Hernandez and Lydia V. Hernandez, brother Ramiro Hernandez and sister Dora Lee Cruz.
Left to cherish his memories are his Ex-wife Silvia M. Hernandez, Daughters: Deborah Lee Hernandez and Amy Marie Montgomery, Son-in-Law: Michael Jay Montgomery, Grandchildren: Raeleigh Nicole and Kaydence Elise Montgomery. Siblings: Gregorio Jr. Hernandez, Homero Hernandez, Celeste Trevino, Juanita Rodriguez, Domitila Tilton, Rosa Lee Esquivel and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus, all individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
