Antonio “Tony” V. Duenez, Jr. 72, of La Tina, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Antonio served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1968- 1970. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He loved spending time with his family, barbecuing, and wood work. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Guadalupe Duenez and his brother, Felipe Duenez. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Maria S. Duenez; children, Antonio Duenez III, Sandy, Chriselda, and Joanna Duenez; two step-daughters, Oralia Sanchez and Esmeralda Garcia; a brother, Emilio Duenez; two sisters, Delia and Lydia Ramos; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Las Yescas Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 205. Honored to be serving as Mr. Duenez’s pallbearers are Jack Soto, Lee Roy Sanchez, Johnny Garcia, Jose Duenez, Pedro Ramos Jr., Antonio Duenez III, Luis Ramos and Ruben Ramirez.
