Alicia Cabrera Hernandez, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home March 5, 2021.
She was born December 11, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas to Maria Santos and Guadalupe Cabrera. She married her longtime friend and love, Pedro Lucio Hernandez in January 13, 1969 who preceded her in death on May 14, 2020.
Alicia loved to spend time with her grandchildren, make home-made tortillas and occasionally a good frozen margarita.
She was a seamstress for 24 years at Levis Strauss in San Benito. After Levis closed its doors in August 2002; at the age of 54, Alicia returned to school to become a certified nurse assistant. It suited her servant’s heart. She loved to help others and many times those she cared for became like family.
Her life was a good example of Bible verse, Proverbs 31: 28-29. “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also; and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”
Alicia is survived by her siblings: Celia Garcia, David Cabrera, Sofia Hapner, Armando Cabrera, Ralph Cabrera, Herlinda Rojas and Miguel Cabrera. Her three daughters: Linda Hernandez, Elizabeth (Juan) Perez and Anne Marie Hernandez. Grandchildren Juan Perez III, Jaime Daniel Limon, Maria Isela Perez, Rolando Elias Rivas and Emily Ann Rivas. All of these, she loved and touched deeply.
