Maria Amparo Villegas Rodriguez, 83, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. She was born and lived all her life in San Benito. Maria Amparo was a life-long parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Association. She was preceded in death by Nicolas & Natalia Villegas (parents); Tomas Rodriguez, Jr. (son), from San Benito; Nicolas Villegas Jr. (brother), Roberto Villegas (brother), & Maria Reyes (sister) all from Bakersfield, California. She is survived by Tomas F. Rodriguez-Husband; Robert (Diana) Rodriguez – Son; Norma (Tom) Martinez-Daughter; Mary (Robert) Coronado-Daughter; Oralia (Rey) Rocha-Daughter. In addition she is survived by her siblings; Luz Leal (Sister), Jesus Villega, Francisco Villegas, Juan Villegas and Alfredo Villegas all from San Benito. Grandchildren: Tomas Jr: Tommy, Heather, Ashley & Isaiah, Robert: Robby & Dylan; Norma: Armando, Eric, Alex & Xavier; Mary: Cynthia & Ann; Oralia: Amanda, Rey, Alyssa, Ryan & Raelynn and 16 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 5 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 11 am at Mont Meta Memorial Park Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 75% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
