Rio Hondo- Beatris Lozano, 70, entered into eternal rest. The Heavens are rejoicing as a warrior was welcomed home on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
Beatris was a member of Saint Helens Catholic Church for most of her life, where she worked as a secretary for a short time in her early career. She worked at Head Start Inc. as a teacher and later at Maranatha Adult Day care as an Activities Director. Beatris loved arts and crafts and could make anything out of plastic canvas. She was an active member of Rio Grande Valley Arts and Crafting Guild and The Salvation Army Women's League. She most recently attended Valley Praise Church and was active in her prayer group Fuego en El Espiritu.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Leonila Lopez, her brother: Hilario Lopez Jr. her husband: Jose Antonio Lozano Sr. and her son: Gerardo Lozano.
Beatris is survived by: children Jose A. “Tony” Lozano Jr. and Celia (Ariel) Merrell, her grandchildren: Gavin Lucas Merrell and Meredith June Merrell, her siblings: Sandra Gonzalez (Gonzalo), Dalia Lopez Pineda (Tomas), Gregorio Lopez (Oralia), and Ida Gloria Romero (Angel) her sister-in-law Teresa Lopez and her sister in Christ Isabel Puente.
She left behind a legacy of faith and love for Jesus and she will be missed by many. The family would like to thank all the doctors, PAs and health care workers who cared for Beatris. Also they would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at DaVita Valley Baptist.
Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks.
A chapel service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. on January 29, 2021 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.
