1951 - 2021 Eduardo Zuniga of Port Isabel entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2021 at his residence. Eduardo was born in Port Isabel on July 8, 1951 to Ofelia Salinas Zuniga and Fermin Zuniga. Eduardo was known as Boo Boo by all his friends. Eduardo graduated from Port Isabel High School in 1970. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation. He served in the military for eight years until June 1978 and completed his military career with the rank of Sergeant. Eduardo was a Vietnam Veteran. After the military he worked for the Laguna Madre Water District. He later returned to his favorite occupation, the shrimping industry. He enjoyed fishing, reading, playing cards and spending time with family. Eduardo was preceded in death by his parents Fermin and Ofelia S. Zuniga, brother and sister Juan and Juanita Zuniga, and nephew Kristian J. Culver. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Estela Zuniga, Maggie Zuniga, Elva Z. Villarreal (Johnny), Ofelia Z. Dreisbach (Bob), Ernestina Z. Haferkorn (George), Palmira Z. Sampson (+Richard), Silvia Z. Cesenes (Frankie), and brother Andy Zuniga (Ann), nine nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews and one great great niece. Due to COVID, services will be private. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Garza Thomae Funeral Home, San Benito, Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
