Maria de Jesus Troncoso, 82, entered into eternal rest on January 1, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Maria was a life-long resident of Port Isabel, and was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and her garden. She was a devoted Cowboys fan. She will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Michaela Hernandez; a son, Enrique Barrera; sister, Sylviana Salinas; and a brother, Martin Hernandez. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Humberto (Susana) Troncoso, Jose Guadalupe (Noemi) Troncoso and Maria Lourdes (Jose Esteban) Avina; a sister, Teresa Stripling; 5 grandchildren, Erika Marie Herman, Monica Troncoso and Enrique (Ricky) Gonzalez, Derrek Jayden Avina, and Devin Jacob Avina; 2 great-grandchildren, Payton Lynn Herman and Garrett Ray Herman; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 5p.m., until 9p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2021, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, TX. With burial to follow at the Port Isabel City Cemetery. Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Humberto Troncoso, Jose Troncoso, Jose Avina, Gilbert Hernandez, Armando Gamboa, Ryan Moore, Monico Flores and Enrique Gonzalez.
