Nancy Henderson was my favorite teacher at Robinson High School (Class of 1978).
Her care and compassion as a teacher led me to major in education in college. What a wonderful role model she was to our child development class! I’m so sorry for your loss.

I am grieving the loss of Mrs Henderson. She was a wonderful addition to our early church, and was such great help in getting Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church up and running....She was a volunteer to keep up with, whether it was helping to fold inserts for the mailings, or helping in The Clothes Closet, or Food Pantry.... many times she brought food in for the office (snacks or pastries), and she was always a welcoming smile, or always willing to lend an ear, if someone wanted to talk. She truly treated everyone the same, no matter your status in life...It didn't matter if you were wealthy, or the poorest homeless person....She treated everyone so well, and never showed anyone who came into the church anything but respect, and love. She and her husband were really good friends to me, and my family (including my mother), well into their retirement to Texas....She was a welcome voice over the phone, or a wonderful inspiration in letters over the years. We lost touch a few years back, but I have remembered her, and her husband fondly over the years. She will be remembered as a Saint, in some circumstances, to me.
Rest in the loving arms of God, Nancy. I look forward to seeing you again, one day....and when I get there,I'll be looking for your smiling face!!!!
God bless you, Nancy Henderson!!!!!

Mrs Henderson was an idol of mine and to so many young women. She was a second mother to me in HS. She always knew what was right and was always there. I learned so much from her in our child develope class. I was a better parent because of her. She will be missed.

I served for several years with Nancy and Jeff in United Methodist Church district leadership positions and on the founding board of Rising Hope Mission Church in Northern Virginia. She was a gracious, insightful, creative, deeply spiritual, and committed servant leader.

Nancy and Jeff were like my second set of parents. We worked together on many projects over the years and kept Wednesday Night dinners going. After they moved to Texas, Ron and I and sometimes Sharon went every year for Thanksgiving. I tried to visit at least once a year and even took my mom with me once. I dearly loved her and Jeff. May she rest in glory. Pam Lipscomb

Nancy and her husband Jeff were on the founding board of Rising Hope Mission Church. They volunteered with us for years as members of Christ Church UMC in Fairfax Station until they moved to Texas a few years ago. Nancy will always be remembered for her cheery disposition and willingness to help those in need. She got to know many of the homeless and struggling people along Route One. She would worship with us at Rising Hope from time to time, participate in our meetings, and even lead our church wide retreats. Nancy and Jeff introduced us to many other wonderful people at Christ Church. I would confide in her in Rising Hope's early days and she gave me the confidence that we could start this mission to those in need. Jeff my heartfelt prayers go out to you. She will be missed here, but heaven has one more angel.

We are so sorry for your loss, Jeff! Tim and I have so many good memories with you and Nancy. I learned a lot from Jeff and Nancy and grew in faith in Jesus, because of their influence in my life. The Journeys of Paul cruise with you two was so special. I am deeply grateful for Jeff and Nancy sponsoring me on the Walk to Emmaus and for encouraging me to take over the Phoenix Rising Homeless Food ministry. The world is a better place because of Nancy Henderson and I am sure she is happy and healthy and whole in heaven now. Much love and prayers for Jeff.
Love,
Debbie and Tim McCrory

Words can not convey the blessing of Nancy. She was a faithful servant who blessed the lives of many many people. Rising Hope would not exist without the leadership and service Jeff and Nancy provided when that ministry was just starting. Christ Church was blessed by their service both volunteer and on staff.
Prayers for all those who grieve her loss. She will be missed.

She was my home ec teacher at Robinson. She was such a good teacher with tons of patience. She even took us to her home for a field trip. I have fond memories of her. RIP. You were one of my favorite teachers.

I was a 1978 Grad of Robinson. I enjoyed Home Ec and FHA. Mrs. Henderson was so generous with her time. I remember shopping with her for school and club needs and traveling together to FHA summer camp. She encouraged me to make and model a dress during one of the camps. She was a lovely lady who enjoyed what she did. My condolences. Pamela Mossinghoff Tures
