The gates of heaven opened to an angel who ascended unto the heaven on Nov 23, 2020. Maria Guadalupe Casas known as ( Cone, Connie or Lupita ) born on Nov 21, 1934 in San Benito, Texas. She passed peacefully at her residence at the age of 86 years old. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and always counted on home made tamales for Christmas Eve. Her saying, " without tamales does not feel like Christmas." She was a strong woman of faith and prayed her rosary daily. She was the type of person that could start a conversation with anyone. Goodwill store shopping and playing scratch off lottery ticket was something she enjoyed. Her favorite verse: ... being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ _ Rom. 5:1. siendo justificados por la fe, tenemos paz para con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo- Rom. 5-1. Maria was preceded in death by her daughter Diana Casas Meza, grandchild Frank Casas III, great-grandchild Miguel Angel Alcala, Her parents Mr. & Mrs. Santos Meza, maternal grand parents Mr. & Mrs. Luciano San Pedro and paternal grand parents Mr. & Mrs. Pablo Meza, brothers: Basilio Meza, Pedro Meza, Julio Meza, Manuel Meza. Sisters: Lupita Meza, Angelita Meza, Maxima Davila, Camila Ramirez, Paula Govea and Juanita Perez. Left to treasure her memory are four sons. Frank ( Nancy ), Ricardo Casas, Rolando Casas and Richard Casas ( Myra ); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As well as one brother and two sisters. Pete ( Dominga) Meza, Jovita ( Norberto ) Alvarez and Maggie Meza. The Casas family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, Nov 30, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thomae - Garza Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Monday evening. Visitation will continue on Tuesday Dec. 01, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. a chapel service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with internet to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
