Brigida Zarate Moctezuma, 94 of Rio Hondo passed away on November 14, in Rio Hondo, Texas.
Brigida Zarate was born on July 12, 1926 to Juanita Zarate in Cardenas S.L.P. Mexico where she grew up. She moved to cd. del Maiz S.L.P. where she met her husband of 63 years, Severo Moctezuma and they had 3 children. She enjoyed taking care of her family, crochet and knitting. She moved to the U.S. in 1990 where she spent the rest of her life caring for the family and her dog Panchito. She will be missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Severo Moctezuma.
Brigida is survived by: Martha Rodriguez (+ Joe G. Rodriguez), Maria C. Rodriguez (Raul Rodriguez), Severo Moctezuma (Beatris Linares de Moctezuma).
She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: LeRoy, Betty Jo, Joe Jr., Thalisa Marie Rodriguez, Oscar, Christopher Rodriguez, Reyna, Severo, Jr., Maria de Jesus, Blas, Moctezuma and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Teresa Catholic Church 1300 Combes St., San Benito, TX 78586. Interment will follow at Rio Hondo City Cemetery.
Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
