Juan Lerma Castellanos "Palomo", 78 of Port Isabel passed away on November 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. At the age of 19 years, Juan arrived in Port Isabel and started working as a shrimper. All his friends knew him as Palomo; that’s the nickname his friends gave him. He loved music and played several instruments. He is preceded in death by his Father: Ernesto Lerma, Mother: Berta Castellanos, and Sister: Benita Lerma Moreno. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Juana Lerma, and his loving children: Jose Angel Lerma (Griselda), Rosalba Guevara (Hector Guevara); Juan Carlos Lerma, Evaristo Lerma (Diana), Ernesto Mandujano (Natalie), Valentine Mandujano (Dora), Juanita Sanchez, and Roberto Mandujano.His Brothers and sisters: Roman Lerma, Isabel Lerma, Ernestina Lerma Castellanos, Guadalupe Lerma, Lydia Lerma, Margarita Vasquez Castellanos, and Berta Vasquez Castellanos.He is also survived by several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX 78578. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
