Jaime Garza, born February 22, 1952, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Harlingen Medical Center. Jaime Garza, 68, was a life-long resident of Port Isabel, Texas and was well known for his willingness to help anyone in need and his famous BBQ. Jaime Garza was a shrimper by profession until he retired in the early 1990s. Jaime was definitely a character, and never was without a smile. He loved to go fishing and being surrounded by the people he loved. The only thing he loved more than being surrounded by the people he loved was sharing the love of Christ with others. The family is grateful for all the wonderful support their father received from friends and relatives. Jaime Garza was a religious man who was loved by his family and friends for always being the first to help anyone in need. Jaime Garza was a fun and loving husband, father and grandfather who will always be greatly missed for all the love and support he gave without ever expecting anything in return. His laugh was so contagious it brought happiness to everyone. He preceded in death by his daughter, Maria de la luz Garza; Parents, Fernando and Maria Reyes Garza; 2 sisters, Paula and Brauila Garza; brother, Jorge Garza and 1 granddaughter Rosemary Jane Garza. Jaime Garza is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Rosa Elva Garza and his sons and daughters; Juan R. Garza, Jaime Garza Jr., Javier Garza, Amy Garza, Yessenia Garza, Eduardo Francisco Garza, Ruth Garza and Ezequiel Garza. Leaving 35 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Fernando Garza and 6 sisters, Carmen Flores, Angie Alvarado, Guadalupe Cepeda, Elena Garza, Esmeralda Garza, and Delia Garza to cherish his memory. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 5:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Light House Assembly of God Church in Port Isabel, Texas officiated by Pastor Steven Hyde with interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
