On behalf of Mark Marquez and Family from Dallas, TX, our hearts are broken with the passing of a good man and friend, Oscar. I am fortunate to have met Oscar by accident over 10 years ago at the HEB, all because of a Dallas Cowboys t-shirt I was wearing. He came up to me and we introduced each other and we talked about the Cowboys and talked like we were long lost friends. After that we kept in touch and every summer when we'd go to SPI I visited with Oscar, talked about the Cowboys of course and shared laughs. What a good man and friend; the world is less funny. God Bless you Oscar, rest in eternal peace; I'll miss you brother and God Bless the entire Torres family.

Oscar was and still is a great friend of mine. And boy did he love the cowboys. And he loved his family first. Iam from Dallas Tx I met him at the H E B. Back in 2008. And the rest was history. When it came to the Cowboys. I always go to south padre island. Every summer. And the first thing that I do is look at the H E B. And call Oscar to let him know we made it down safe. Although I never met Mr. Torres, I had the pleasure to know Johanna Torres when she was a graduate student in our program at the University of Texas at Tyler. She was an excellent student and a strong advocate for women. She loved her family and it was clear that she was well loved. It can be said that one of the best things we can do is raise our children to contribute to making the world a better place. Mr. Torres succeeded, and has left a legacy that will impact generations to come. Bless his family and friends during this time of grieving.
