Jesus Ramos Atkinson, 73, passed away on September 28, 2020 was guided by faith and lived to the best of his ability. He loved to teach his farming abilities to his son, Clemente Atkinson, pertaining to the ins and outs of getting the best crops and would be filled with pride when everything came out superb. He was so proud and excited that Clemente had decided to follow in his footsteps. Jesus valued the days of hard work and took pride in his prized stock of roosters and chickens. So much so, in his last days he wanted to constantly be up to date with everything happening at home. He carried a huge load of pride when it came to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father, Rogerio Atkinson, mother; Marcela Ramos Atkinson; son, Rogerio Zepeda Atkinson, brother and sister; Reynaldo Atkinson and Anita Atkinson. Surviving him are wife, Guadalupe G. Atkinson (27 + years); sons, Jesus (Laura) Atkinson Jr., Demetrio Atkinson, Eric Atkinson, Clemente (Julissa) Atkinson, and Jesus Atkinson; daughters, San Juanita (Joel) Salinas, Tamara (Ralph) Zapata, Nancy (Miguel) Gonzalez, Marcela (Roy) Rodriguez, Heather (Silverio) Aguilar, and Guadalupe (Joe) Atkinson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 and interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery in Rio Hondo, Texas.
