Josephine Holland Lubbeck, 90 entered into eternal rest on September 15, 2020. Josephine was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a devoted Catholic. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel; Josephine retired from Laguna Madre Water District after 44 years of service. Together she and her husband owned and operated H &L wiring and Henry’s car wash and washateria in Laguna Heights for many years. She volunteered her time with the PIISD band booster club when her children and grandchildren were in school. For serval years she also served as an elections clerk in the county, state and national elections. She was preceded in death by her loving Husband: Henry Lubbeck; Daughter: Brenda Lubbeck. her daughter-in-law: Janet Lubbeck; her parents: Mariano Holland and Refugia Pérez Holland: her sisters; Beatrice Holland Floyd, Magdalena Holland Garcia, Maria del Refugia Holland Guzman and Enriqueta Holland Barrera: her brothers; Richard Holland and Mariano Holland. She is survived by her loving his children: Becky (Arturo) Ortiz, Henry Lubbeck, Jr., and Hans Eric Lubbeck: her grandchildren; Jessica Price, Arturo Ortiz, Ashley Lerma, Brittney Lerma, Damaso Lerma, Donald Lubbeck and Andrew Lubbeck: 3 great-grandchildren: her sisters; Ruby Holland Garcia and Camila Holland Follmer: brothers, José Roberto Holland and Ernest William Holland. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings). Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 South Longoria Street in Port Isabel. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
