Maria Guadalupe “Pita” Zamora, 49, of Port Isabel, Texas went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2020.
Lupita always welcomed you with a broad smile and a warm hug. She was the life of the party. She loved playing games, especially Bingo. Lupita was loved by all.
She was a strong and selfless woman who would drop what she was doing if anyone needed anything. She made sure to embrace you every time she entered and left the room. With family being everything to her, she always made sure they came first and would protect them at all costs. She will be deeply missed by all for her love, compassion, and support.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Reynaldo S. Alvarado Jr.; granddaughter Artlette H. Castillo; baby sister Teresa Martinez; maternal grandparents Bartolo and Guadalupe B. Perez; paternal grandparents Celso Jr. and Magdalena Martinez; her mother-in-law Cecilia Cantu Zamora; father-in-law Ricardo Zamora Jr.; and brothers-in-law Ricardo Zamora III and Reynaldo Barrientez Sr.
Surviving Pita is her loving husband of 30 years, Jose Santos Zamora Sr.; three loving daughters: Larissa Nicole Zamora, Teresa Marie Zamora, and Ziza Marie Zamora; one son, Jose Santos Zamora Jr.; eight grandkids: Edison Cienfuegos Jr., Evalette Nikole Sosa, Rayelette Cataleya Alvarado, Jorden Alizae Cienfuegos, Carliee Amaniee Cienfuegos, Amaziah Rayland Alvarado, Lorenzo Santos Cienfuegos, and Aksel Spencer Cienfuegos; her loving parents: Lucila and Constancio Martinez Sr.; one brother, Constancio (Diana) Martinez Jr.; three sisters: Celestina (Carlos) Salazar, Lucinda (Servando) Martinez, and Connie (Gregorio) Gutierrez; three sisters-in-law: Gloria Barrientez (Alberto Jr.), Rosa Z. Mora (Roberto Sr.) , and Mary (Tony) Cruz; three brothers-in-law: Israel (Irma) Zamora, Danny (Sarah) Zamora, and David Zamora; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers: Jose S. Zamora Jr., Edison Cienfuego Jr., Brandon Cantu, Jonathon Martinez, Joshua Martinez, Darren Cisneros, Constancio Martinez Jr., and Carlos S. Salazar.
