Port Isabel, TX - Jose Garza "Ciruelo" was born on April 19, 1944 in Port Isabel, Texas. He entered eternal rest on September 18, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Mata Garza and Maria Catalina Amaya and his brother Jesus Rolando Garza. He is survived by his brother Ruben A. Garza of Mission, Hilda Guadalupe Mireles, Alma Garza of Port Isabel, and IrmaHooks of Alvin, TX; sisters-in-law Maria J. Garza (Mission), Maria De Jesus Garza (Port Isabel), brothers-in-law Daniel Hooks, Tacho Mireles and Rogelio Reyna. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Ruben David Garza, Javier Jesus Garza, David Angel Garza, Jesus Rolando Garza, Jr., Abraham Mireles and Adrian Mireles. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria, Port Isabel, TX. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery. Words of comfort may be sent to the family of Jose Garza at www.thomaegarza.com.
