Guadalupe Betancourt, 70 of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. He was born July 13, 1950 in Port Isabel, Texas. Guadalupe was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War with the 1st Calvary Division as a Master First Staff Sergeant. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Betancourt. Guadalupe is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Blanca S. Betancourt; daughter, Guadalupe Betancourt Cuellar (Miguel); granddaughters, Blanca Lea Tabares and Samantha Leemarie Ibarra; mother, Casilda Martinez Betancourt; brothers, Daniel Betancourt Jr., Cristobal Betancourt, and Reynaldo (Rosa) Betancourt; and sister, Amelia Villarreal (Jose Antonio). A visitation will begin Monday, August 24, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Talk at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A chapel service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and burial will follow at Port Isabel Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
