Port Isabel, TX - Raul G. Loera "El Cowboy" 85, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. Mr. Loera was life time resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Port Isabel. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Estella Loera; parents, Octavio and Manuela Garza Loera; 3 brothers Reymundo, Graciano and Pedro Loera. Raul is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dionicia C. Loera, 12 children: Pablo Loera (Luisa), Conrado Loera, Julio Loera, Beatriz Delgado, Peter Loera (Letty), Teresa Hill (Richard), Esmeralda Castillo (Rigoberto) , Frances Bella (Ricardo),Raul Loera Jr.(Maria), Cruz Antonio Loera , Gilberto Loera and Mary Ann Zurita ( David) ; several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lucio and Rafael Loera; 5 Sisters, Genoveva Cisneros , Guadalupe Jaramillo, Adela Garza , Concepcion Torres and Felipa Loera. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 10:00 am to 3 pm at Thomae- Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito. Visitation will resume at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas. Committal services will follow to Las Yescas Cemetery in Las Yescas, Texas. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Words of comfort may be left for the family of Raul G.
