Belinda Florestela Rendon-Torres passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, July 25, 2020, with her son by her side. Belinda attended and graduated from Villa Maria High School in Brownsville, TX in 1972. She volunteered as a “candy striper” at Brownsville Medical Center while attending high school. She obtained her Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) certification immediately after graduating. She rendered her LVN services at Brownsville Medical Center for many years and also worked at several nursing rehabilitation and home health centers before her retirement in 2015. She devoted her life to her only son. However, she was always active, involved and helping her cousins, aunt, uncles and friends. Belinda was a strong, loving and caring person who was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. She was the rock, foundation and center of her family. She loved everyone unconditionally and never expected anything in return. She will be tremendously missed by those whose lives she touched and paths she crossed. She is preceded in death by her mother, Erminda Garcia; maternal grandparents, Zoilo and Eloisa B. Garcia; and grandson, Ayden James Lopez. Belinda is survived by her only son, Xavier Alfredo Lopez; along with numerous cousins.
