Bertha Griselda Vazquez Rangel, 42 of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in Harlingen, Texas. Bertha (Cona) was a loving mother of six, five girls and one boy. She was the one you’ll go to if anything was needed. She had a heart of gold. She is preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Vazquez Rodriguez; and sister, Felicitas “Fela” Vazquez Rangel. Bertha is survived by her loving husband, Carlos Lara; children, Alondra, Citlali, Litzy, Isaac, Karla, and Evelyn; her mother, Maria Consuelo Rangel; brothers, Luis Gregorio, Pedro, and Jesus; and sisters, Rosario, Lupita, Sandra, Paty, Esperanza, Chelo, and Martinez. A visitation will begin Monday, August 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and burial will follow to Las Yescas Cemetery in Las Yescas, Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
