Maria P. Barrientos, 80 of San Benito, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Harlingen, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion Pena and Irene Silva; son, Pedro D. Barrientos; and brothers, Encarnacion Pena and Jose Pena. Maria is survived by her husband, Jose G. Barrientos; children, Lupita Barrientos Pena, Maria Lydia Barrientos, Jose Luis Barrientos, Rosa Barrientos, Maria Barrientos, Jose G. Barrientos Jr., and Graciela Ruiz Barrientos; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Faustino Pena, Guadalupe Pena, Juan Pena, Celia Pena, and Herlinda Trevino. Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 29, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A chapel service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
