On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Gregorio Montemayor, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 73. Gregorio was born on September 23, 1946 in the small town of San Benito, Texas to Jose and Mariana Montemayor. He was a devoted catholic and U.S. Army Retired Combat Medic who fought in Vietnam. He married Aurora and raised 2 sons, Samuel and Efrain, and 1 daughter Elisa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Montemayor and Mariana Montemayor. Surviving him is his wife, Aurora Montemayor; daughter Elisa Montemayor; and two sons: Samuel Montemayor and Efrain Montemayor Sr.; grandchildren: Luis Montemayor, Maria Araceli Torres, Veronica Garcia, Efrain Montemayor Jr. Samuel Montemayor Jr. and Christopher Montemayor; and great-grandchildren: Elijah Manuel Torres, Ashley Dalilah Torres, Ethan Alexander Torres, Noah Josiah Garcia, Naomi Jiselle Garcia, Elisa Paulette Montemayor, Alexa Maryse Montemayor, Presley Grace Montemayor, Christopher Areese Montemayor and Lincoln Gregorio Montemayor. Visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Military honors will be conducted by VWF Post 2035 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020, followed by a chapel service at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
