I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Q at CDI migrant / seasonal headstart in La Paloma. He was an employee, co-worker, friend, our security and bus driver . He was the first one at the gate in the morning and the last one out of the gate in the evening. In between he'd let guest or vendors in , escort them around the building. He didn't have to do any of this , but that is just who he was . He demonstrated commitment to children , pride in our center and loyalty to his employer . I will miss my friend and co worker. I respected his family values to his wife and children, his daily concern and care for his parents. He would always have a story to share and we'd laugh with joy . His Monday question " did you go to church ?" Or did you at least pray for me ?" Yes my friend I will continue to pray for all of us .. Respectfully ,Ms. B -CDI family ..

I would like to share the story of when I met Carlos to show what an amazing man he was to those he knew and to those he didn't know that well. The epitome of a man that would take his shirt off his back and give to somebody that needed it more. One day I took a gentleman that was trying to get his school bus and passenger endorsements on his CDL license to the DPS test facility in Edinburg. On that day Carlos had also taken a driver to take the test, as our drivers waited their turn on the buses, Carlos and I sat down under a tent to wait for them to take the test. We talked a little about each other's work experience and we listened to some classic rock. Then as we were watching my student driver do his pre-trip test portion the officer and the student walked over to me and told me the bus had ruptured a front air chamber during the air brake test. The driver was so disappointed because he knew it would take a long time to reschedule a driving test. Well, Mr. Quintanilla quickly offered to see if we could use his bus. We had just met him 15 minutes prior to this and he quickly called a Supervisor and explained the situation and sure enough, we got the ok. Both of our drivers passed that day thanks to Mr. Quintanilla. I thanked him and told him that our door would always be open for him.

To the Quintanilla Family-i am a former colleague of his at the SanBenito Migrant Headstart we worked at&in the short time that I knew Mr.Q- he was my driver. I will always remember his sense of humor, punctuality, his neatness for work he did whether it be inside, outside, helping anyone out in need or attend to his bus because he always liked to have the nicest, sweet smelling, cleanest bus& building& he made sure 100% that all duties we're seen too& carried out. He will always be remembered in my heart as a very hard-working man and I am so sorry for your LOSS because he will be greatly missed. Forever in my heart- May he rest in peace. I, as we all do, have the greatest and fondest memories.of this grand symbol of a grand man.
