Ann Breckenridge Martin, 80 of Laguna Vista, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
Ann Martin was born June 12, 1940 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She married R.V. Martin January 1, 1966 and had two children, James and Karen.
Ann grew up in Houston, TX and spent most of the 1970’s and 1980’s in Denver, Colorado raising her kids. In the mid 1980’s the family relocated to East Texas to build Martin’s Fishing Resort on Lake Fork. Ann was a self-driven, hard worker and loved to tend the vibrant, flower gardens at the entrance to the park.
In 2001 she struck out on her own and moved to Laguna Vista, Texas, where she was active in the choir at First United Methodist Church, was a full time prayer warrior, and a caregiver to anyone in need. Ann loved to swim and to cook and was best known for making chocolate cake with amazing chocolate icing from scratch.
She never forgot birthdays and went out of her way to make sure you knew you were special to her.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Breckenridge; her brother, John; and lifelong friend, Gimone Hall.
Ann is survived by her son, James Martin and Sharon Martin; daughter, Karen Yager; stepdaughter, Cindy Busby; grandchildren, James Breckenridge Martin, Michayla Karyn Martin, Jeremy Yager, Lanie Yager, Caroline Morgan; and great grandson, Reign White.
She is also survived by her special friends, her family in Laguna Vista, Ginger Tandus, Carmen Olson, Becky Horner, Colleen Tores, Elaine English, and Jenna Purdy, the Pastor she adored.
