Petra B. Sauceda, 82 of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at her residence in San Benito. She is preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad G. Sauceda; daughter, Maria Elena Sauceda; parents, Felipe and Antonia Vela Betancourt; sister, Josefa Garcia; and daughter-in-law, Graciela Herrada. Petra is survived by her children, Antonio Herrada, Jose (Flor) Herrada, Israel (Erica Lopez) Sauceda, Omero (Rosa) Sauceda, Ismael (Juana Lumbreras) Sauceda, and Esmeralda (Francisco) Magos; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and sister, Maria Betancourt. Visitation will begin Wednesday, June 17, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A chapel service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and burial will follow at Rio Hondo Community Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 50% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
