Maria Quirina Vasquez, 56 of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Quirina was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel, Texas and a member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. She graduated from Port Isabel High School in 1973. She was the General Manager for the Dairy Queen Restaurant in South Padre Island, Texas and retired in 2004 after 31 years of employment. She is preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion Sr. and Maria Moncereta Gonzalez-Vasquez; and a brother, Javier G. Vasquez. She survived by her loving siblings, Dallas Wayne (Brenda) Vasquez of Richmond, Virgina, Guadalupe (Teodoro) Lerma Renteria of San Fernando, Tamps. México, Hector G. Vasquez of Port Isabel, TX, Dora Vasquez of Port Isabel, TX, and Encarnación (Patricia) Vasquez of Brownsville, TX; a sister in law, Blanca Luz Palacios Vasquez from Edinburg, TX and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 02, 2012, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and will continued from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, April 03, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Committal service will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel.
