Maria G. Ramos, 91 of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Los Fresnos Texas. she was a women of great faith, and loved to live the ranch life, was a amazing cook and loved to dance with her husband of fifty years. It brings us all comfort knowing she is rejoicing in heaven surrounded by her loved ones. Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband Santos C. Ramos. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Santos (Janie) Ramos Jr., Delia ( Russ) Muller, Lupita (Alfredo) Trevino, Samuel (Vivian) Ramos and Alfredo Ramos as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Aguilar at La Hacienda Nursing Home and Trinidad Day Care Center as well as her provider Maria Castaneda. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Jay Gonzalez, Joseph Gonzalez, Raul Diaz, Randy Gallegos, Uvaldo Garcia and Ruben Garcia Jr.. Visitation will begin Monday, January 27, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Los Anaquitas Cemetery in Rio Hondo, Texas.
