I worked with Mona at the clinic in Laguna Vista many years ago. She was a great teacher, she taught me how to draw blood. She love her children and we had many conversations about them . I always enjoyed catching up when we would go to the docks. I will miss her. Prayers for the family.

My 3 year old grandson & I sat and talked with Mona almost half an hour while waiting on my husband & daughter to return from a fishing trip in June ‘13. In that short period, she wanted to know all about us. My daughter had gotten pregnant her junior year of high school—we had gone through a really tough period—but things were looking up and she just completed her first year of nursing school. Mona then told me her life history. She talked to me about the importance of always standing behind your kids regardless of the adversities. She gave me motherly advice on the importance of building your children up, to instill confidence in them. My mom had recently passed away, and I can’t begin to tell you how important that talk was to me. I hugged her as we were leaving, feeling like she was someone I had known my entire life. She shared such warmth and generosity with me, and I have never forgotten her for that. My condolences to you all. You were truly blessed to have her in your lives. Prayers for peace and comfort.
