San Benito, Texas- Simon M. Torres, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Roberto Torres.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rogaciana Torres; his children: Lucia (Armando), Salome (Mague), Fina, Gonzalo (Esperanza), Carmen (Eleazar), Toribio (Ida), Ismael (Flor), Lupita (Freddy),Cande (Sonia), and Jesus (Claudia). He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
Mass of resurrection will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. Committal service will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
