Gerardo Sanchez Martinez, 57 of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Martinez; nephew, Christopher Lee Martinez; niece, Katherine Mia Garcia; and his maternal grandparents, Herculano and Augustina Sanchez. Gerardo is survived by his mother, Maria Berta Martinez; four children, Gerardo (Rocio) Martinez Jr., Perla (Carlos) Martinez, Ruby Ann (Carlos) Martinez, and Roxanne Barrientos; siblings, Juan Ramon (Leticia) Martinez, Delia Green, Virginia Rocha, Rachel (Mickey) Rodriguez, Raul Reina, Santos Reina, and Diamantina Reina; wife, Belinda Bocanegra; 11 grandchildren; five aunts and uncles, Catarina (Anita) Sanchez, Celia (Juan) Garcia, Maria Elena Galvan, Ofelia Ramirez, and Angela Banda; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Friday, December 27, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at St. Benedict Catholic Church and interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
