Obituary of Armando Longoria

Armando Longoria, 75 of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019.

Armando Longoria had a great passion for photography, as he spent many of his early years as a photographer at events for friends and family in the local community. One of his main hobbies was gardening, and he could be seen most afternoons working in the garden in front of his home. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and frequent visitors, having conversations full of laughter late into the night. His days would often begin with him singing or whistling along to a favorite song on the radio while he had his morning coffee. He will be remembered for his generosity, as he was quick to offer a hot meal to a neighbor or a helping hand to friend in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Alonzo Longoria and Raquel Longoria; and siblings, Alonso Longoria, Raquel Pena, and Benita Longoria.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angelica Longoria; sons, Jesus A. Longoria, Julio C. Longoria, Rodolfo V. Longoria, and Marco A. Longoria; daughter, Amelia L. Velez; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 6 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas.
